Q. How does trip cancellation and interruption coverage apply?
A. It reimburses for forfeited, non-refundable, unused payments or deposits if the insured must cancel or interrupt their trip due to covered reasons. The interruption benefit may also include coverage for additional transportation expenses.
Q. Will the plan reimburse for the single supplement if my traveling companion cancels?
A. If a traveling companion cancels and you are held responsible for a single supplement, you would be covered for the change in the per person occupancy rate as long as the reason for the cancellation was covered under the terms of the plan.
Q. Are my personal items in the car covered if they are stolen?
A. No. Coverage is only for the rental car.
Q. My car rental company says I can only purchase coverage through them.
A. If a car rental company refuses to allow you to use this coverage, please feel free to have them contact Travel Guard, toll free, at 1.877.249.5376 for verification.
Q. Are there any countries that do not accept Car Rental Collision Coverage?
A. Yes, Jamaica, Mexico, Ireland and Costa Rica.
Q. Can we request a refund of the travel insurance plan after purchase?
A. Travel Guard plans include a Satisfaction Guarantee where customers may request a refund in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org within 10 days of the purchase date or prior to departure, whichever happens first. The customer will receive a refund of the plan cost excluding any service fees.
Q. What if I need a proof of my coverage to obtain a visa (a Schengen letter)?
A. Please call the World Service Center at 1.877.249.5376 and a representative will be able to provide you with this information.
Q. How do I file a claim?
A. Call Travel Guard at 1.877.249.5376. Their claims department is available Monday – Friday 7 am to 7 pm CST. A representative will start the claim with you over the phone and explain what needs to be provided in order to process your claim. The form will then be mailed, faxed or emailed to you for signature and you will be asked to provide the appropriate documents.
